Mmm: and the months go by. Not sure where. Ageing parents, teenage kids and lots of work all get in the way of toy soldiers. Once the first half of the year has passed work load tends to lessen so hopefully I can get back on track with Wine and Cheese.

Having a day off for the Queen's Jubilee, (God bless her) I have spent most of the day rebasing the Zvezda's. For the third time.

This time putting six infantry onto 4cm square bases.

I had previously based them singly and then basing eight on 6 by 4 cm bases. Using Charge the intention was to have the same frontage for foot as horse, as recommended in Mr Asquith's Charge "pamphlet". However this really made the the infantry look a bit too far apart. Given that space on the table is at premium I decided to reduce the frontage of an infantryman a little. Having tinkered with Charge's melee rules the same frontage was no longer relevant.

Basing in sixes no doubt influenced by purchasing The Wargame.

A nice publication with some lovely piccies.

It was also my birthday recently and my clever other half managed to find a copy of another of Brigadier Grants works of note - Scenarios for Wargames. As suggested by Bluebear Jeff a few months ago I intend to reboot my campaign with a "tree" of games derived the old book. More of which anon.

  2. The Scenario Book is a great resource indeed . . . it is full of great scenarios to play.

For some of the "Mini-Campaigns" that others have come up with, take a look here:

Click on the "brown" links to go to each mini-campaign for full details of their "trees" . . . and have fun!

Also please let me know of any "Mini-Campaigns" which you develop, sir.
